The United Way of Front Royal-Warren County has announced that Lee Smith-Osina has retired from her position as executive director effective June 30, 2016. She has led the nonprofit group since 2007.
In her letter to the board of directors, Smith-Osina stated that “now is the correct time to move on in my professional life and retire from the United Way of Front Royal.”
The board of directors is currently interviewing candidates to fill Smith-Osina’s position. In the interim period, Merry-Lynn Sheetz has stepped in to run the day-to-day operations until a new executive director is hired. Sheetz currently serves as the executive administrative assistant.
“On behalf of the board of directors of the United Way of Front Royal-Warren County, we thank Lee for her service to the organization and to the community,” said president Bret Hrbek. “Under her leadership the United Way of Front Royal-Warren County has grown into a powerful force for good in the county. We look forward to continuing the momentum and building on that success to serve the needs of the people of Warren County. We wish Lee the best in her future endeavors.”
