The life blood of our agency are those donors who give what they can, when they can. They are the people who see a need and jump in to help. Many times it’s the change in their pocket, or a couple of dollars at an event and we’ve shown how ‘just a dollar a week’ can really make an impact in a someone’s life. Without you we would not be able to continue our mission and support the community the way we do.
We salute you, the “Everyday Philanthropist”. You are making a difference in Warren County and changing lives. We appreciate you!
Our Everyday Philanthropist donor level: $1 – $999 annually. This can be a one-time donation or a monthly pledged donation.
Your donation supports programs and services in Front Royal and Warren County. The funds raised in Warren County stay in Warren County to benefit those individuals and families needing assistance in our community.
Red Feather Society
In 1929 there were 350 Community Chest communities. In the early 1930s many Community Chests adopted the red feather as a symbol of service to the community. Even today, there are long term volunteers who still refer to the United Way campaign as the “Red Feather” campaign. In recent years, the red feather has become a symbol for community leaders who give at a level higher than the average citizen.
The name “Community Chest” was phased out in 1963 and became United Way. The fundraising purpose, to assist local charities, has remained the same.
Membership in Red Feather giving societies includes four levels of recognition:
Platinum – $5,000 – $9,999
Gold – $2,000 – $4,999
Silver – $1,500 – $1,999
Bronze – $1,000 – $1,499
Red Feather Society givers are unique individuals who understand the importance of giving back to the community.
By becoming a member of the Red Feather Society of the United Way of Front Royal-Warren County, you will make an exemplary statement of community caring and compassion. Your investment will be distributed to the partner agencies in Front Royal and Warren County. You may also choose to designate your gift by county or to a specific 501c3 agency.
“I have seen Americans make great and real sacrifices to the public welfare and have noticed a hundred instances in which they hardly ever failed to lend faithful support to one another.”– ALEXIS de TOCQUEVILLE
United Way chose the name Tocqueville Society because of Tocqueville’s admiration for the spirit of American volunteerism and its effect on the common good. Tocqueville Society members exemplify that spirit of good and of philanthropy in its most generous form.
While the minimum gift for our Tocqueville Society membership is minimum annual gift of $10,000, this gift can be cash or asset-based. The gift can be given outside the campaign to support such areas as United Way’s impact initiatives and endowment. Please reach out to us directly if you’d like to join the elite Tocqueville Society.
